Award winning actor, screenwriter and director Clark Gregg is best known for his role as Phil Coulson in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Avengers. He has also appeared in the television series Marvels’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and lent his voice to the animated TV series Ultimate Spider-Man.

After graduating the prestigious New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Gregg co-founded (along with his mentors David Mamet and William H. Macy) the acclaimed Atlantic Theater Company. His first film acting role was a small part in David Mamet’s Things Change (1988). The following year he made his Broadway debut as Lt. Jack Ross in Aaron Sorkin’s play A Few Good Men. Supporting roles in movies and television soon followed, including recurring roles on The Commish and Sports Night.

Gregg wrote his first screenplay for the film What Lies Beneath, which was released in 2000. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, and starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford, What Lies Beneath became a major box office success.

Gregg has also written, directed, and appeared in the feature films Choke in 2008 and Trust Me in 2013.

  • In 1999, Variety Magazine named Clark Gregg to its “50 Creatives to Watch” list.
  • Clark Gregg has won many prestigious awards including the Florida Film Critics Circle Awards in 2000 for Best Ensemble Cast (for State and Main, shared), a Grand Jury Prize nomination at Sundance Film Festival for his film Choke (2008), and The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films ‘Saturn’ award in 2013 for Best Supporting Actor in The Avengers.
  • He has appeared in over 20 television shows and mini-series. His recent television roles include a recurring role on West Wing, as FBI Special Agent Michael Casper and a co-starring role as Richard in The New Adventures of Old Christine.
  • Clark Gregg has also appeared in over 40 films including Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, 500 Days of Summer, and Much Ado About Nothing
