Celebrity Speaker For Hire: Bob Woodward
The most popular name in investigative journalism and nonfiction writing is that of Bob Woodward. A young graduate of Yale University, Woodward started working at The Washington Post since 1972, and has continued to do so since then. Starting off as a young reporter, Woodward is now the associate editor of The Washington Post. Woodward has won every journalism award, some even twice during his extensive career covering the main events of history.
A Navy veteran, Woodward returned home to take graduate level courses at George Washington University and worked at The Montgomery Sentinel before The Washington Post hired him. Woodward’s first big story started with the Watergate Scandal, which he covered with Carl Bernstein. The NY Times went on to call their reporting of the Watergate Scandal as “maybe the single greatest reporting effort of all time”.
Woodward has published sixteen books, twelve of which have made the New York Times best seller lists, which is more than any contemporary writer of his time. They include: All the President’s Men and The Final Days, both Watergate books, co-authored with Bernstein, The Brethren: Inside the Supreme Court, Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi, Veil: The Secret Wars of the CIA 1981-1987, The Commanders on the first Bush administration and the Gulf War, The Agenda: Inside the Clinton White House, Bush at War, Plan of Attack, State of Denial:Bush at War Part III and Obama’s Wars.
60 Minutes has done pieces on five of his books and three have been made into movies. Currently Woodward resides in the Georgetown section of Washington DC where he lives with his wife, Elsa Walsh.
